Acxiom, the Cobalt Group, and LogicLinc have pooled their resources to build an electronic customer-relationship management package called AutoMarket In.Sight for the automotive industry. It uses data integration (from Acxiom) and analytics (from LogicLinc) for that "single view of the customer," accessible via the Internet or wireless devices. Analytics include a triple-screen analysis that segments consumers by their likely vehicle choice. So group dealerships can share customer data across locations or look at a potential customer's vehicle ownership history to help the dealer personalize the sales effort.
Cobalt will develop the application interface and host and maintain the dealer applications, which will be accessed through MotorPlace.com, Cobalt's online business-management portal for auto dealers. In addition, Cobalt will provide dealer training and dealership-management-system data extraction in order to link the service directly to dealer inventory and manufacturer offers.
