re: Feds Warm Up To LinkedIn
Those in the commercial world must wonder what kind of time warp are feds still living in. But one has to remember, most of us sign up for one social media or another and just say, sure, I agree to the terms, without ever reading them. But government agencies, and government execs representing them, couldn't, for various legal reasons. Then some smart folks at GSA worked up new terms of agreements directly with Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc, beginning in March 2009. That opened what was a pretty tightly locked door. Since then, there has been a wave of innovators using social media. Not surprisingly, LinkedIn took a while. After all, which fed wanted to look like they were promoting themselves for their next employer. You still won't find a lot of important federal leaders on LinkedIn. But you certainly find a lot more than there used to be.
