SaaS vendor NetSuite Opens Platform To ISVs, VARs
In launching the NetSuite Business Operating System, the vendor is offering to host third-party software on its multi-tenant, on-demand architecture. As a result, ISVs and VARs can extend NetSuite's underlying capabilities to specific verticals.
Don't Discount The Threat Of Web 2.0 Terror
We've recently seen silly articles hyping the threat of terrorists using virtual worlds and other Web 2.0 sites for recruitment, planning, and training. And we've seen equally silly articles ridiculing the idea. The truth is that Web 2.0 tools are great for terrorism, for the same reasons they're great for legitimate projects. That doesn't mean we should shut down Facebook and Second Life to protect ourselves from instant, horrible death. But we do need to rationally evaluate possible threats.

Turning Work Into Play Is No Game
It sounds like techno-utopian silliness to say that businesses need to learn from online games how to make tedious knowledge-work more enjoyable. How SaaS Changes IT Sales
SaaS is not only changing the way we use software but also how vendors sell software... In the traditional sales model, the idea is to dazzle the customer in the beginning, make huge promises, and then collect the big check... In the SaaS model, the power is really with the customer, and the sales people have to take a very different approach to selling.

SaaS Leadership Hinges on Microsoft's Yahoo Bid
I guess I could point to all of the press releases and blog posts about Microsoft's $44 billion Yahoo bid, but there are thousands at this point and you already know what's going on... A core issue here is ownership of the SaaS marketplace, a clear direction for all of the major players and thus the driving force behind the current land grab, and this deal.
