Artisoft Inc. today will roll out a new version of itsTeleVantage software, a PC-based phone system that the company says will provide small to midsize companies with more cost-effective call management and IP telephony capabilities.
TeleVantage 3.0 provides users with a built-in IP gateway that lets them save money by sending long-distance calls over the Internet through least-cost routing. It supports up to 265 extensions and 96 analog T1 or E-1 trunk lines. The call-answering feature allows users to check voice mail over the Internet through a Web client. Other features include automatic call distribution, which provides call outcome reports and other performance reports on the user's call center, and voice-mail synchronization with Microsoft Exchange to integrate voice and E-mail messages.
"The new product is definitely much better than its predecessors," says Matt McDonald, director of technology for Stoneage.com, an online car-buying service in Troy, Mich., and a TeleVantage customer. McDonald says the new version of TeleVantage has helped his company handle call volume more efficiently and effectively.
TeleVantage 3.0 will be available in the fourth quarter through resellers. Pricing depends on the deployment.
