HelloFresh Moves Analytics To Hadoop

HelloFresh, one of the popular new fresh meal delivery services, was outgrowing its home-grown business intelligence system. To meet the needs of its growing business and data volumes, the company moved to MapR's Hadoop.

Frequent snapshots lighten the burden on recovery
This is a great example of how frequent snapshots reduce the problem of setting a recovery point for data (in case of disaster) and implementing the system to provide it. I don't know how frequently HelloFresh schedules snapshots. But the day is coming where they will largely replace more complex recovery systems by capturing a new one every 10 or 20 seconds.
