Data making us slaves?
Though its all good (the analytics-driven approach to recruiting, career planning, etc.), but at some level we may realize that we have become or are becoming prisoners of the data. If we take historical statistics of someone from an HCM database use it to suggest career actions or something else, aren't we limited their aspirations and opportunity to do something different than what they have been doing? How does the data take care of this? I think as long as data is restricted to "non emotional" or "non life-defining" functions, its fine. If we take it to the extreme where whom you should marry (yes there are Dating apps doing this), where you should work (there are apps doing this), which type of news should you read (we keep on seeing "recommended for you), which type of programs we should watch (we keep on seeing "channels for you), it becomes nauseating and frustrating to an extent.
