Borland Software said it will use the $100 million acquisition for its focus on application lifecycle management.

Borland Software reported Wednesday that it will acquire Segue Software for about $100 million and focus on its application lifecycle management (ALM) business in the future. Borland also said it is seeking a buyer for its Integrated Development Environment (IDE) business.
Borland said that by emphasizing its ALM business, it can promote Segue's offerings as a provider of global software quality and testing solutions.
"Segue's quality optimization products and services will add significantly to our growing portfolio of application lifecycle management solutions" said Tod Nielsen, Borland's president and chief executive officer, in a statement.
