HP Expands Remote Printing Function For SMBs

New ePrint facility, previously announced on an inkjet, is being added to a laser MFP.

New ePrint facility, previously announced on an inkjet, is being added to a laser MFP.HP's new ePrint function lets you print from anywhere in the world, using common formats, as long as you have access to e-mail. For SMB offices, its availability was recently announced for the Officejet Pro 8500A and 7500A.

The technology will now also be available on a laser, with the HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw Color MFP. Like the OfficeJet Pro, it has a color touchscreen control panel, and can scan, copy, and fax, as well as print, through both wired and wireless networking. The list price is $449, and ePrinting will be available in the Winter.

Also enhanced with ePrint technology was the HP Officejet 6500A, an MFP that lists for $149.

HP's collection of apps which can be accessed from the touch-screen of a stand-alone ePrint machine in the absence of a PC connection has also been increased with the addition of a QuickBooks by Intuit app for scanning, storing, managing, and printing financial materials.
