Calico Commerce Inc. will bolster its eSales Internet customer-relationship management suite this week with eSales Loyalty Builder, which tailors a customer's Internet experience based on past interactions and previously expressed preferences.
In addition to customizing Web-site content and appearance, Loyalty Builder can send out E-mails telling customers about news related to products they've just purchased. "It's really trying to add a customer context to an E-commerce offering, rather than just dealing with transactions," says Aberdeen Group analyst Chris Martins.
Calico is also updating the rest of its eSales Suite, adding improved performance in its Configurator and Quote modules. InfoGuide, a marketing encyclopedia, will be more tightly connected to the configuration and quote models, and a Calico software development kit and eSales Enterprise Connectors will make it easier to hook the eSales suite to existing customer-relationship management and order-entry systems. The suite is available immediately, starting at $250,000.
