Re: funny, but
Just like Android was developed and became a competing--and some say an excelling--Smartphone operating system, so will someone develop something that competes with Apple Pay.

Re: funny, but
Well since there are a couple big retailers that are saying they won't accept Apple's Pay system (Walmart and Best Buy) it might be reality.  You might have an Apple watch for your running and a handful of retailers and an Android watch for your mail, calendar and the retailers that won't participate in Apple Pay.

Re: ...and this one
Everything in business and technology is cyclical.  We go from centralized to decentralized back to centralized and so forth.

In this age of cell phones, I never plan to buy a watch again (until and unless I get so rich that I can afford a bazillion-dollar gold Rolex, just for the fashion statement).  Besides, they leave an itchy mark on my wrist.

funny, but
Funny cartoon, but if I'm not mistaken, not really accurate, right?
Anyway, don't forget to vote on the smartwatch poll. It looks very interesting

I think it will be more like Apple's efforts with smartphones:

2016: "Buy your new Apple Watch, with Bluetooth 4.0, an amazing "new" feature.

And you wouldn't want the two to communicate with each other because you want the fitness tracker not to penalize you for the donuts!

...And this one sings happy birthday! And this one has my to do list.....

Funny comic. Instead of "they have an app for that...." it would be, "they have an watch for that...."
