Cisco Systems has formed a new unit called the InternetBusiness Solutions Group, which will work with customers to help them understand and use Internet-based business.
The group, which will be located in San Jose, Calif., will offer in-person customer advisory sessions, sponsored seminars, and training sessions. It will consist of IT professionals and experts in various vertical industries. The group will be led by VP Sue Bostrom, who will report to Cisco CIO Pete Solvik.
The group is also implementing a program whereby other companies can provide their expertise in helping customers with E-commerce. Among these companies are consulting firms Cambridge Technology Partners, Ernst & Young, and KPMG Peat Marwick.
