HP -Hybrid Provider?
Smart move HP, it's going to be hard pressed to compete toe to toe with AWS, only because not only were they one of the first to market, they just have so many resources that keep the prices to the point where it doesn't make sense for many new entrants.
That being said, HP has a great opportunity here: OpenStack is showing to be more than an alternative to mainstream cloud, with huge supporters from both customers and vendors. Containerization, BEAUTIFUL, the more support for this new way of writing software means we'll see a spike in adoption and streamlining of the way apps are created for next-generation cloud services. And let's not forget Hybrid Cloud, this is where we will see a good chunk of adoption still to be had as more companies figure out the balance between internal and external clouds.
The strategy is right, the question is where does HP want to go with it.
