What's Good for the Consumer/Business?
It is good that businesses and consumers are operating in a time where Amazon has managed to enable an ecosystem that can deliver and generate value. It is good to have a player in a market that has reached a certain level of scale, and services are being provided that were previously difficult or not economical.
However, too much scale is also not good as it limits the amount of choices that a consumer/business has at their disposal. Around the year 2009, when Amazon bought Zappos, it seems that Amazon wanted to be the only online retailer in the world. Similarly, with all the price cuts that Amazon is delivering in their cloud services, it again seems that Amazon wants to be the only cloud infrastructure provider in the world.
