Data center expansion 101: Whenever possible, go to the cloud
If there are a lot of enteprises that want to turn to the cloud rather than build another data center, then Velostrata's approach is going to have tremendous appeal -- if it works as advertised. You don't have to change the legacy applications. If they'll run in a VMware virtual machine, they are "burstable" or migratable.

This approach resembles to streaming apps
Some people say this sounds like VMware's live migration, but that requires movement from like to like of a running application, and this is movement from enterprise data center to cloud, an unlike to unlike exchange, as many know who have tried it. Instead of live migration of virtual machines, it's closer to streaming an application and booting it up without waiting for all the data to arrive.
