Court Date Set For Oracle
Oracle will face off with the Department of Justice on June 7 in federal district court in northern California. The trial will determine whether Oracle's proposed $9.4 billion acquisition of PeopleSoft Inc. violates antitrust laws. The Justice Department alleges, in a lawsuit it filed with seven states, that the merger would eliminate competition in human-resource and financial-management software, resulting in higher prices, less innovation, and fewer choices.
