Dell last week entered the consumer-electronics market, debuting products including an LCD television and a portable digital music player. In a keynote speech at Technology Review magazine's Emerging Technologies Conference at MIT, CEO Michael Dell pointed out the synergies between entertainment and computing. "If you think about the home, the PC is becoming more and more the center of the entertainment experience," he said. Dell also forecast an end to wires. "With speeds improving and costs coming down," he said, "some form of 802.11 is the likely way we'll distribute information in the home."
