To insert the cent sign (¢) into a Microsoft Word document follow these instructions:

  1. On the number pad on your keyboard, make sure the NumLock key is on.

  2. Press and hold down the [Alt] key and then press 0162 on the number pad.

  3. Finally, release the [Alt] key to place the cent symbol in your document.

For this process, make sure you use the numerical pad keys and not the regular keyboard numbers for this one.

To insert the cent sign, press and hold down the [Alt] key and then press 0162 on the number pad.
