BlackBerry Vs. Laptop: It's No Contest

If you could use only one device for an entire day, which would it be: your BlackBerry, cell phone, iPod, or laptop?

If you could use only one device for an entire day, which would it be: your BlackBerry, cell phone, iPod, or laptop?By far, it's the laptop. According to a Web poll conducted of 1,900-plus tech professionals from April 19 through May 3 by the Computing Technology Industry Association, 45.6% chose laptops. A distant second at 20.7%: desktop PCs.

Far behind: BlackBerry devices, 8.7%; cell phones, 7%; handheld computers, 6%; iPods, 3.5%; PDAs, 3.2%; portable gaming devices, 1.9%; MP3 players, 1.7%; and portable DVD players, 0.4%.

"The results attest to the pervasiveness of the computer in our lives and the power of today's computing technology, whether it's used for business productivity, personal entertainment, communications, learning, or any number of other applications," CompTIA CEO John Venator said in a statement accompanying the survey results.

Fortunately, we don't have to choose between these gadgets. We can have 'em all.
