Docent Upgrades Online Training Offering
Docent Inc. today will unveil the latest version of its Web training product, Docent Enterprise 3.0., which lets mobile users take courses offline and gives companies more tools for measuring the effectiveness of training courses.
The tools can measure a trainee's progress in the courseware against a customer's business data. For example, companies can compare a salesperson's test results against sales or customer satisfaction.
Docent Enterprise 3.0 has three modules that create a framework for building and providing online training to an array of users over the Internet or a corporate intranet. The product includes Docent Mobile software, which lets users download course material via the network or a CD-ROM for later use offline; Docent Server; and Docent Desktop for Developers, which creates and publishes customized Web-based courseware. Users can take courses via any browser without the need for Java or plug-ins. Docent Enterprise 3.0 costs $125 to $275 per user, depending on the number of users, and is available immediately.
