re: SAP Sees Payoff In Cloud, Hana Bets
I reported the +5% on SSRS and the -5% on software revenue above. You neglect to list the +146% on cloud in your comment. I'd say Wall Street is more interested in full year profit than an incremental tweak to Q4 earnings projections. Given that Cloud and Hana weren't even on the balance sheet in 2009, I'd say that 9% in 2013 and cloud at 30% of U.S. software revenue reflects fast growth (though they did pay dearly for SuccessFactors and Ariba).
What I see missing from SAP is solid case examples and details on how Hana is leading to "dramatic simplification" and "incredible performance improvements" in the real world. We hear these claims and they name drop companies choosing Hana, but after three years of preaching, there are very few, real-world details from customers testifying to the ROI, the "dramatic" performance gains and the "dramatic" simplification. Time to hear from customers, not more techno talk from Vishal Sikka and Hasso Plattner.
