Former Clinton Exec Join To Head Procurement Vendor
How hot is E-commerce? Even Bill Clinton's former chief ofstaff is jumping on the bandwagon. Erskine Bowles, former
White House chief of staff and cabinet member, Wednesday was
named chairman of Intelisys Electronic Commerce LLC, a
provider of Web-based procurement technology that's half
owned by Chase Manhattan Bank.
Bowles is general partner of Forstmann Little & Co., a New
York investment firm that bought a one-third voting interest
in Intelisys for $65 million in October. Bowles, who left
the White House in November 1998, said he intends to take "a
very active role" as chairman.
