Domain name registrar GoDaddy.com on Thursday launched a service for publishing and managing podcasts.

Quick Podcast offers podcasters hosting and publishing services starting at $5 a month. After uploading an audio file, the system automatically generates and publishes it as a podcast on an RSS feed.

"The tools in Quick Podcast are ideal for small to medium-sized businesses, as well as individuals looking to get into the podcasting game," Bob Parsons, chief executive and founder of The Go Daddy Group Inc., said.

Service features include support for AAC audio, the standard used by Apple Computer's iPod portable media player and the company's iTunes Music store. Subscribers also get a hosted Web page with templates and themes to showcase podcasts, and media management tools for organizing files.

In addition, the service comes with statistic reporting to track the popularity of podcasts, and 24-hour customer support.
