The new professional edition, released Tuesday, also includes dashboards, and has integration features for extracting data from different database types, including Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, Oracle, and Ingres. The new release is tailored for companies with less than $1 billion in annual revenues, or fewer than 1,000 employees.
Organizations using Crystal Decisions include Columbia Valley Community Healthcare in central Washington, the Bethany Group, based in Irvine, Calif.; and the Central Maine Medical Family, which operates three acute medical facilities.
Crystal Decisions Professional is generally available through Business Objects and its channel partners in twelve languages. A standard edition released in February is also available. Customers of the earlier version can upgrade for the difference in price between the standard and professional editions.
