The result of the marriage is the ability for the user to view real-time pricing as well as build proprietary models - in a range of markets - through a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
Bernard Weinstein, senior managing director at Cantor Fitzgerald, emphasizes the simplicity that a spreadsheet can offer a trader who might otherwise need assistance to create models from data feeds. Without timely information, he adds, a model can't effectively track strategies and visualize opportunities.
"Excel is second-nature to traders. It's easier than balancing a checkbook," he says.
While AutoSpeed was released as an automated-trading tool for eSpeed customers early in 2003, AutoSpeed View is intended for a broader audience. Cantor is offering the solution for viewing without execution capabilities to non-eSpeed customers.
AutoSpeed View is currently available through Cantor Market Data's live fixed-income-data feed, Cantor Direct.
