Veridata is designed to ensure that a standby database is consistent with a production database to avoid unpredictable discrepancies between source and migrated or replicated data. GoldenGate, a transactional data-management vendor best known for its namesake product for transactional data integration, released Veridata 1.0 in 2005.
Veridata 2.0 improves on the first release, which made it easy to compare source and target data in relational tables, but had limited database support and functionality.
The upgrade includes several enhancements to the product architecture and user interface that improve usability, security and manageability, according to GoldenGate. The new Web-based user interface has better support for typical navigation and workflow. In addition, the software's reporting component has new filtering capabilities and is refreshed automatically.
Other improvements include role-based access for security, the ability to run multiple comparison groups, faster mapping and user-based customization. Veridata 2.0 is generally available, and can be bought as a standalone product. The software supports Oracle to Oracle and Hewlett-Packard NonStop to NonStop databases. Pricing was not disclosed.
