JasperSoft Signs OEM Deal With Ingres

Ingres has licensed the JasperSoft Business Intelligence Suite to offer reporting and data analysis to database customers.
Open-source database maker Ingres has licensed the JasperSoft Business Intelligence Suite to offer reporting and data analysis to customers, the companies said bTuesday.

The OEM agreement is to give customers "the ability to rapidly and easily get advanced BI functionality to extend the value of their Ingres solutions,” said Roger Burkhardt, president and chief operating officer for Ingres, said in a statement.

BI functionality available through the JasperSoft suite includes a report server, graphical report creation tool, and dashboards, tables, cross tabs, and charts. Ingres customers would be able to create, store, and schedule distribution of interactive reports.

Ingres plans to announce products stemming from the deal and pricing in the third quarter.

JasperSoft sells an open-source version of its BI suite, as well as a professional edition that builds on the open-source code base, but is sold through a commercial license. The paid version provides support, indemnification, advanced features and expanded support for application servers, databases, and operating systems.

Ingres, a spin off of CA, teamed up last month with open source enterprise content management provider Alfresco. Under the deal, the Ingres Icebreaker database stack that runs on Linux would be available with an ECM option from Alfresco.
