Research Giant SAIC Launches BPM Practice

The $5.9 billion employee-owned research and engineering firm announced a "business process fusion" platform that incorporates Metastorm's e-Work software as its BPM component.
Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) said Monday it will launch a business process management practice as part of an extended alliance with BPM software manufacturer Metastorm.

SAIC, a $5.9 billion employee-owned research and engineering firm, announced a "business process fusion" platform that incorporates Metastorm's e-Work software as its BPM component. The offering also includes enterprise application integration and business intelligence elements.

SAIC's new practice will focus initially on providing applications and consulting services to address operational risk management and supply chain operations.

SAIC has already deployed Metastorm at several government agencies including the Department of Defense. Though SAIC provides IT-related services to the commercial sector, it gets about 90 percent of its revenue from systems integration, engineering and R&D work for government clients.
