re: Cancer Researchers Mine Big Data To Individualize Treatment
Yet another example of real world applications using big data to analyze and treat diseases. With the amount of data that is available and the amount that is potentially available, itG«÷s all a matter of collecting it and applying it. With the lack of interoperability among EHRs and the differences in the type and storage of data collected by EHRs, there are issues when trying to collect from different systems, but if standards can be agreed upon and open source software implemented, then there is huge potential in garnering and analyzing the data. The sharing of knowledge between physicians is invaluable when trying to improve patient health and treat for diseases such as cancer.
