re: Hospitals Must Address 'Alarm Fatigue,' Joint Commission Says
In order to reduce alarm fatigue and create an environment where the alarms are actually useful, the right level of training has to be performed, and nurses and doctors together should monitor and adjust alarms accordingly. I have been in so many hospitals where you see alarms just being ignored or improperly adjusted for specific occurrences. Even though I like the idea of having alarms transmitted to smart phones or tablets, if the previous issues arenG«÷t resolved this will only hurt more than help.
