IBM today unveiled new hardware and software security packages for companies that are moving more of their business transactions to the Web.
IBM Integrated Security Solutions include the SecureWay FirstSecure framework customers can use to integrate security for Web-based servers with legacy systems. FirstSecure uses a Policy Director server to centralize security procedures for different security technologies, such as firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion-detection systems, and digital certificate servers.
IBM is also integrating third-party software with its new security framework. Among the vendors IBM has tapped for security technology are Dascom, which supplies access-control technology, Finjan for filtering software, Symantec for antivirus protection, and Security Dynamics for authentication.
SecureWay FirstSecure will be available in March. IBM hasn't disclosed pricing information yet.
