In Short: Adaptive Discovery Aids Automation

Ultimus Inc., a provider of business-process-management and workflow-automation software, released Ultimus BPM Suite 7.0. Its "adaptive discovery" technology lets companies deploy automated processes without requiring that all business rules be defined ahead of time. Process experts can create rules on the fly to manage exceptions and control flow.

The process learns from each new rule so that it becomes more sophisticated and simpler as it's used. Because process rules are separated from the process infrastructure, changes should be made faster and easier. And since there's no need for full discovery of rules ahead of time, Ultimus says, companies reap the benefits of business-process management in much less time than was previously possible.
