New software from IBM lets nontechnical managers create information flows within businesses without programming. Users of IBM's latest WebSphere Business Integration software can connect, say, systems within accounts receivable and shipping departments by dragging and dropping. The product combines apps from companies recently acquired by IBM, including CrossWorlds and Holosofx, as well as software developed by IBM. "They've done a good job putting everything together, but they still have some work to do," says Forrester analyst Sharyn Leaver. For instance, some modules within the program still run in different execution environments.
