Hyperion Earnings Jump 40 Percent

The business intelligence software maker reported earnings of $20.7 million in its fourth fiscal quarter ended June 30, compared with net income of $14.7 million in the same period last year.
Hyperion Solutions reported a 40 percent leap in its earnings in its most recent quarter, along with modest increases in revenue and license sales.

The business intelligence software maker reported earnings of $20.7 million in its fourth fiscal quarter ended June 30, compared with net income of $14.7 million in the same period last year.

Sales for the period rose 7 percent to $189 million. Software license revenue increased 9 percent to $78.8 million. Maintenance and services revenue grew 6 percent to $110.2 million.

Looking ahead, Hyperion said it expects sales in the range of $168 million to $172 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2006. The forecast assumes a tax rate of 35 percent and an exchange rate of $1.20 per Euro.
