Informatica earned $8 million in its third quarter ended Sept. 30, reversing a loss of $8.6 million in the comparable quarter last year. Sales for the data integration vendor reached $65 million, up 24 percent over the $52.4 million Informatica recorded in the same period last year. License revenue in the most recent quarter rose 28 percent to $28.2 million.
Separately, Informatica announced an agreement with SAP that entails Informatica working with SAP customers to handle their data migration, system consolidation and other data integration projects. The deal also includes a three-year agreement with SAP that involves "local go-to-market agreements" that will be piloted by SAP America.
Informatica and SAP currently have 400 shared customers.
SAP last year awarded its Data Migration Interface certification to Informatica's PowerCenter integration platform. The certification opens the door for easier migration of data from legacy systems into SAP environments.
