Interlink Releases Stack-Independent Management Software

Interlink Computer Sciences Inc. introduced a new version of its e-Access management software yesterday for administering legacy mainframes connected to TCP/IP networks.

This stack-independent version of e-Access works with both Interlink and IBM TCP/IP stacks, which together Interlink says 99% of all customers in this market group use.

Interlink's suite includes e-Control, a policy-based management application for measuring and enforcing TCP/IP service levels on MVS. E-Control handles configuration, troubleshooting, performance analysis, and capacity planning.

The company is also rolling out Turbo for ADSM, a product that promises to speed ADSM (Adstar Distributed Storage Manager) backups by two to three times. Interlink says because its ADSM product cuts CPU cycles as it quickens the pace of backups, it can result in major savings. Interlink also offers similar products for speeding FTP transfers and Telnet connections to mainframes.

Pricing for e-Control starts at $37,750 for 50 Mips. Interlink hasn't released pricing information for Turbo for ADSM. The e-Access suite is shipping now, with the exception of Turbo for ADSM, which it will deliver next quarter.
