Interop NY Keynotes Announced: Cisco, Box, CBS Interactive

Interop's keynote lineup for New York features IT leaders from Cisco, Box, and CBS Interactive, plus special guest Seth Meyers.

Interop New York brings IT leaders to the keynote stage from CBS Interactive, Cisco, and Box. These executives will share their experiences in navigating the changes affecting both IT and the business. Interop keynotes happen October 1 and 2 at the Javits Center.

Steve Comstock, VP of Site and IT Infrastructure at CBS Interactive, will discuss why IT must embrace shadow IT. As Comstock noted in a recent interview with InformationWeek, shadow IT is an opportunity for IT to get closer to the business.

“It lets IT get involved,” he said. “You talk to the business unit and find out what problem they’re trying to solve rather than trying to control the software.”

Attendees will also hear from Sujai Hajela, Senior VP in Cisco’s Enterprise Networking Group. Hajela’s portfolio in Cisco includes enterprise routing, switching, and WLAN. He talks with customers and partners to understand their problems and challenges, and works with engineering to bring new networking products to market.

Hajela was previously VP and General Manager of Cisco’s Wireless and Cloud Networking group, where he led the acquisition of cloud WLAN vendor Meraki. Prior to Cisco, Hajela was an executive at Motorola, with responsibility for that company’s wireless network solutions business. He’s also worked for Nortel and Hewlett-Packard.

Interop is also pleased to welcome Ben Haines, VP of IT and CIO at Box. Haines is responsible for building Box’s enterprise IT functions using cloud solutions and enhancing where needed. Prior to Box, Haines was CIO for Pabst Brewing Co., where he moved the organization from a traditional IT infrastructure to a service-oriented environment. Haines also spent nine years at Red Bull.

In addition to these business and technology leaders, Interop welcomes Late Night host Seth Meyers to the keynote stage for a tech-focused stand-up comedy set. You can see highlights of Meyers’ comedy here. And Interop attendees who have a Total Access Pass will be entered into a drawing to go backstage to meet Meyers and take a photo.

Interop New York takes place September 29 through October 3 at the Javits Convention Center. Register now!
