Intraware Inc. a Web service for pricing and purchasing information technology, yesterday added three enterprise partners and unveiled a revamped site, expanding its business-to-business E-marketplace capabilities.
Hewlett-Packard, Macromedia, and Novell have joined Intraware's list of vendors, whose products will be merchandised within its online purchasing service, intraware.shop. The new partnerships give Intraware more than 40 vendors that market to its 150,000 IT members, company executives say.
Mark Troester, director of marketing for intraware.shop, says HP's Fire Hunter product line, a network-management tool, will appeal to a Web audience. Macromedia decided to offer its generator and Web-publishing product line, Troester says, because they work well with Intraware's Netscape infrastructure. And Novell signed on because "they're attracted to the number of IT people purchasing infrastructure products from our site," Troester says.
Enhancements to Intraware's Web site were designed to simplify the researching and purchasing experience. For example, along with its flagship Compariscope service, Intraware now offers a service called "Your Account," through which customers will have access to details of their purchase history, and can download products.
