IT Jobs Are Plentiful, Survey Says

If you ask IS professionals whether there are openings fortheir job function in their companies, 41% would say yes.That's based on a recent InformationWeek Research survey of1,495 IT professionals. The highest percentage of jobopenings are in data mining, application development, andenterprise resource planning. At least two-thirds of peoplein those positions say there are job openings in thosefunctions at their companies.

Surprisingly, Internet and networking jobs are among thosewith the fewest openings. Still, 41% of people surveyed inInternet jobs and 39% of those in networking positions saythere are openings for jobs in those functions at theircompanies.

The survey indicates that the larger the company, the moreIT job openings. Nearly 60% of all companies with annualrevenue greater than $750 million say they have job openingsfor IT professionals, compared with less than 40% at smallercompanies.
