Rumors are swirling that Apple may demo Mac OS X 10.6, the next version of its operating system, at next week's Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco.Apple may even release code to developers, sources are reporting. Mac OS X 10.6, a.k.a. "Snow Leopard," is not expected to include major changes. Rather, it concentrates on improved performance, speed and stability. The new OS, due for release at January's Macworld conference, will run on only Intel-based hardware, possibly marking the end of Apple's support for the PowerPC.
