At the same time, the price of service plans is going up.New customers signing a two-year contract and current iPhone owners will be able to pay $199 for a new 8GB iPhone. Current AT&T customers who aren't eligible for upgrade discounts will pay $399 for the 8GB model and $499 for a 16GB device. Eventually, AT&T will offer a contract-free iPhone at $599 for the 8GB model and $699 for 16GB.
