Subscribers can dial #TAXI (#8294) from a Boost Mobile phone, and the service automatically connects them to the first available local cab company.

Normally, the service has a fee associated with it. Well, not on St. Patrick's Day.

#Taxi connects Boost subscribers to an interactive voice response system or live agent. All they need to say is the name of the city they are in, or the name of a taxi company of choice to be instantly connected. No wait and no busy signal. The service works in every city and major town across the United States -- more than 2,000 within Boost Mobile's network coverage area.

Boost Mobile is the prepaid arm of Sprint Nextel, so its national footprint is significant.
