Firefox 3.0 Set For Tuesday Debut

Following 34 months of development and three release candidates (RC), the latest version of Mozilla's browser, Firefox 3.0, will become available Tuesday, June 17.Firefox 3.0 promises to be faster, more stable and secure, and easier to use than its open-source predecessor. To drum up excitement, Mozilla is attempting to set a Guinness World Record by making Firefox 3 the most software downloads in a 24-hour period. Doing so would require at least 1.6 million downloads.

The third RC, which rolled out Wednesday, contains one change for Mac OS X users only.The Register, The Tech Herald
