Connectivity options include 3G broadband and Bluetooth, while Wi-Fi and Ethernet are built in. To better support VoIP and videoconferencing, Lenovo has boosted the Webcam resolution to 2 megapixels, improved the microphone, and added a mute button.

A two-finger multitouch touchpad makes it easier to move and resize objects on the screen.

So what makes the SL410 and SL510 appropriate for SMBs? According to the company, it's Lenovo ThinkVantage Technologies (TVTs) -- Access Connections, Client Security Solutions, Rescue and Recovery, Presentation Director and System Update -- a set of hardware and software tools designed for SMB users without IT support.

Available on October 22 to coincide with the launch of Windows 7, pricing for the ThinkPad SL410 and SL510 begin at $529, and head north from there as you add on the extras.
