Microsoft Outlines Details of SaaS Offerings

Microsoft released pricing and packaging details for two new suites of subscription, software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings from Microsoft Online Services.According to Microsoft, "Microsoft Online Services delivers enterprise-class Microsoft software as subscription services to businesses of all sizes hosted by Microsoft and sold with partners."

For $3 per user per month, companies can subscribe to the Deskless Worker Suite, which includes Exchange Online for access to e-mail, calendars, and contacts, as well as antivirus and antispam filters; and SharePoint Online, which offers access to SharePoint portal and team sites.

For $15 per user per month, companies can subscribe to a more elaborate suite that includes Exchange Online with full Office Outlook integration; Office SharePoint Online for portals, collaboration, search and customized team sites; Office Communications Online for instant messaging and presence; Office Live Meeting for Web conferencing and videoconferencing.eWeek, Microsoft
