TECH STOCKS: Struggling To Close Up
All of our indexes closed almost unchanged, but at least the InformationWeek 100 ended in the black.

Alone among the indexes we follow, our InformationWeek 100 index rose slightly Wednesday. The others couldn't overcome stiff drops earlier in the day.
The InformationWeek 100 rose 0.14%, or 0.42 point, to end at 296.19. The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 3.67 points, or 0.19%, to 1,904.65, and the S&P 500 fell 1.13 points, or 0.11%, to rest at 1,059.05. The Dow Jones industrial average fell a hair further from 10,000, ending down 1.56 points, or 0.02%, to close at 9,921.86.
The Nasdaq-100 tracking stock closed up 0.4%, or 14 cents, to $34.57, on heavier-than-average volume of nearly 100 million shares.
