Equitable pay most everywhere except from India
Just about every location has equaitble compensation for the area's cost of living. Now if you could take a $130K salary in San Jose to a position in St. Louis keeping your $130K then you'd have an advantage but that's not going to happen. More likely, at $130K, you are going to be replaced by a candidate moving from St. Louis previously making $85K for a $105K to take your position not realizing the extreme cost of living. But very most likely both positions, San Jose and St. Louis, are being replaced by a H1B1 visa candidate from India for $55K as Disney did to the 250 IT positions in Florida.
