Comic: Unwearables

Wearables were one of the top gifts of 2015, but not all of them were created equal.

I believe wearables are, in many ways, about bridging the gap between fashion and industrial design. It must be having good and bad aspects but it is dependent upon user how they see it.

I think the picture being portrayed in comic will be a reality in near future and then the gadget we are happily wearing will not be welcomed any more as it will be seen as a barrier to freedom rather then a "life saviour". What do you say?

I don't need a wearable to tell me to eat all the ice-cream. I can do that all by myself, and be happy about it. :D -Susan

:) Susan you are right. I am sure these wearables are not still a necessity. It will take some time for them to be taken out from the category of luxury. Till that time I am not finding them to be very useful things. But still on certain occasions there importance cannot be ruled out. What is your opinion?

Re: You can Eat ALL You Want
Nomi, what I meant was that I don't need a wearable to tell me to eat ice-cream because I can eat all the ice-cream by myself. It was a joke based on the cartoon. :D Seriously speaking, and responding to your question, I think everything depends on the wearable we are talking about and what use people will give to them. I don't think wearables are a luxury. Like pretty much everything else, you can find a wide range of tai prices to satisfy different markets. As for usefulness, you might find something unuseful which someone else finds useful. There are many factors to this and it all depends on the person. Wearables have proven to be great in healthcare and will become even better in the next few years. -Susan

Self Control
Brian, the cartoon shows that some devices are taken our control and decide what to eat and what not? Whether we need such devices to control us; I feel self control is more important than any sort of external controls.

Nomii, even I have same line of thought. Control you/self and be away from all diseases and devices. Self control and non sedentric style of life can help for a better living.

Susan, that means still you have a good control over your body and mind, I mean a self control. When we start losing that, happen to be sick and someone else (doctors/Device etc) will decide how we have to leave.
