Orders for computers and related products rose 1.3% last month, dramatically more than the 0.7% rise in overall durable goods.

Orders for computers and related products rose a seasonally adjusted 1.3% in June, according to a report issued Wednesday by the Commerce Department.
That follows rises of 0.9% in May and 7.4% in April. As a comparison, overall durable goods orders rose 0.7% last month, after declining 0.9% in May and 2.7% in April.
For the previous 12 months, computer orders have risen 14.4%, slightly better than the overall durable goods orders increase of 12.2%.
Shipments of computer wares rose 1.5% in June, reversing a 9.8% decline in May. Computer shipments gained 9.7% in April.
The backlog of orders for computer products increased 0.7% in June as inventories grew by 1.4%.
