Dell Tuesday unveiled a personal laser printer priced under $100, marking the first time the Round Rock, Texas-based computer maker's dipped into the ultra-low priced laser market.

The Laser Printer 1100 is a 15 page-per-minute, 600 dpi resolution printer, said Dell, and has a desktop footprint about the size of a sheet of paper.

Aimed at home and small office users, the 1100 can print about 5,000 pages per month, but like most printers, ships with a limited-use toner cartridge good for only 1,000 pages.

The 1100 is available from the Dell site immediately at prices starting at $99.
