EarthLink Unveils Small Office Broadband

Small Office DSL Plus promises download speeds of up to 6 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 768 Kbps.
Internet service provider EarthLink Inc. on Thursday launched a small-office broadband service that does not require local phone service.

Instead, the Small Office DSL Plus service uses a line set aside for data service. The benefits include support for Internet phone systems that do not support DSL lines sharing data and telephone service, the Atlanta-based company said. In addition, the service comes with installation and hardware at no additional cost after rebate.

"This service takes away the added expense of a local phone line and is a perfect solution for small and medium-sized businesses that can't get DSL from their local phone company," Linda Beck, executive vice president and general manager for EarthLink Business Solutions, said in a statement.

Small Office DSL Plus offers download speeds up to 6 MB per second and upload speeds up to 768KB per second. Service plans start at $79.95 per month.
